Route 50
 Route 50 Relocation from St. Martins to west of California
 
   

The Missouri Department of Transportation will relocate Route 50 from St. Martins in Cole County to west of California in Moniteau County.

The first phase of the project consists of 11 miles of new four lane highway between the existing St. Martins interchange to Route K, east of California.

Phase Two is 8.35 miles from Route K to west of California, and includes grading, paving, drainage work and a new interchange at Route 87. From Route 87 around California the highway will be two lanes with paved shoulders.

Construction on Phase One began in early 2007 and is scheduled for completion in late 2008. Phase Two construction is scheduled to begin in late summer 2008 and completed by the end of 2010. The contractor for both phases is Illinois Valley Paving, Co., of Springfield Ill.

Route 87
Route 87 Overlay
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
 

The Missouri Department of Transportation will smooth the driving surface and improve safety on Route 87 in Moniteau County. Route 87 will be overlayed from Route O to Route C near California. The roadway shoulders will also be resurfaced in California.

Work is scheduled to begin in spring 2009 and end in late fall 2009.

Contractor: APAC-Missouri Inc. of Columbia, Mo.

Award Amount: $1,333,369.67 (*Award amount includes another overlay project in Cole County.)

 
   
   
Route C
Route C Overlay in Cole, Moniteau & Morgan Counties
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
 

The Missouri Department of Transportation will smooth the driving surface and improve safety on Route C in with a new overlay. The project includes 21 miles of Route C from Route AA near Russellville to Route 52 near Versailles.

The route will also be widened to add shoulders on each side of the roadway. Rumble stripes will be added along the edgeline from just past the city limits of Russellville in Cole County to Route AA in Morgan County. No rumble stripes will be installed through the community of High Point. Funding for the work comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Work is scheduled to begin in spring 2009 and end by winter 2009.

Contractor: Jefferson Asphalt Co. in Jefferson City, Mo.

Route D

Moniteau Creek Bridge on Route D

Bridge Deck Replacement

Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program
 

The bridge deck of the Moniteau Creek Bridge on Route D will be replaced as part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program. The Moniteau Creek Bridge is located four miles northeast of Route KK.

The bridge will be closed to traffic during the work and motorists will be detoured around the work area. Work is scheduled to take place in 2009.
