Narrative Description:

Bridge P0956 over the East Medicine Creek Drainage Ditch is a 128’ seven-panel Pratt pony truss with a 63’ steel girder approach span on each end. The bridge has metal pile bents with concrete caps and concrete abutments. The approach spans have steel girders, concrete deck and curbs and asphalt wearing surface. The truss span has a wood deck and curbs with asphalt wearing surface. The bridge has angle rails.


The bridge is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places under criteria A and C for local significance in transportation and engineering.


MoDOT’s Historic Preservation Section is now accepting proposals for the relocation and reuse of the bridge or its components until March 30, 2017. A proposal checklist is available MoDOT’s Free Bridges website (http://www.modot.org/freebridges/). Preservation covenants may accompany the bridge.
