What Is The Problem With Route BB Between Route 21 And Route 30?
The Route BB bridge over Sand Creek (south of Regina Road) was built in approximately 1966 and desperately needed to be repaired. Also, there are many drainage pipes/box culverts along Route BB that are between 50 and 60 years old that need to be replaced. Finally, there is a sharp curve on Route BB at Olde Baker School Lane that needs to be straightened to improve safety and sight distance.
What Improvements Along Route BB Are Being Proposed?
- MoDOT replaced the driving surface on the Route BB bridge over Sand Creek, south of Regina Road. The bridge was widened by one foot on each side of the bridge to increase the shoulder width on the bridge.
MoDOT is replacing 24 aging drainage pipes/box culverts along Route BB between Route 21 and Route 30.
Route BB will be relocated to the west at Olde Baker School Lane. The relocation will straighten the roadway and improve safety and sight distance at this location.
How Will Traffic Be Impacted While Construction Is Under Way?
- Other short-term road closures may also be necessary while crews replace the drainage pipes/box culverts along Route BB.
Estimated Project Cost:
Approximately $3.9 million is budgeted for construction of this project.
