MoDOT to close lanes on PSB Friday night, Saturday morning

ST. LOUIS - Drivers heading into downtown from Illinois should consider alternate routes Friday night and Saturday morning, as only one lane will remain open on the westbound Poplar Street Bridge.

Missouri Department of Transportation crews will close two lanes on the westbound Poplar Street Bridge at 7:30 p.m. Friday to remove and replace the temporary driving surface on the bridge. These lane closures are in addition to the one lane already closed around the clock. In addition, the ramp from Sauget to the PSB will also be closed at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The ramp from the westbound PSB to I-55 will remain open. Because of the work, drivers should consider the Martin Luther King Bridge, the Eads Bridge or the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge to get into downtown.

The two lanes and ramp closed Friday night are expected to reopen by 1 p.m. Saturday to allow Cardinal fans to get to the National League Championship game.

This work will remove and replace the temporary overlay on the outside lane of the PSB.  A permanent overlay will be placed next year as part of on-going work to replace the PSB ramps to westbound I-44 and southbound I-55.
